A larger negative volume helps lower the initial spring rate, letting your suspension better absorb minor trail imperfections and improving overall sensitivity. However, the trade-off is that a larger negative chamber can reduce positive volume, making the fork progressively stiffer toward the end of the stroke and preventing you from using all your travel. This is where the Noken shines. It allows you to enjoy the benefits of a larger negative air volume without the usual trade-offs.
